Purple Comfort

After seeing the great designs and having Sher tell me about Sweet Pea Stamps (and seeing Holley's cards using them) I checked out their site and you know I just had to buy some. This card was done with Ching- Chou Kuik's Purple Comfort. I don't own a lot of Copics yet so coloring is still a challenge (and I don't have purple) but I just love the image. I thought it would make a nice get well card.

Spring Blog Hop Winner!!!

Thank you all for your comments. I had a busy weekend so I did not reply to them but I want you to know I read them all. I just want to clarify that the Cricut cartridge 50 States does not have the wrong state for CT but the shape they have for it is wrong. They have it as coming to a point with a straight lines and that isn't how it is shaped. This image below was cut from that cartridge.

I know you can't see the whole thing but here is what the state is shaped like.

Note the lower left that hangs down....no straight lines and no point.

I don't see what the big deal is where Cricut can't come as close to a state shape as I can when they have software designers and all kinds of experts and little old me took years to start a blog because I didn't know how to post. Well, enough about them. I just wanted to clarify it wasn't the wrong state.

Now what you have been waiting for.....how I picked the winner and who it is. I know some people didn't answer the question, some didn't want to be included in the prize, some left more than one comment. This is how I do it. I count every comment thus 40 & 19 and put 59 in. What number it spits out I check to make sure the person has answered and don't have multiple posts. (Those with multiple posts get the number of their first post....the second one don't count so they do not get a better chance than any one else. I try and keep this fair as possible.) If that number did not answer the question or want to be included or it was the second post of a person, I do it again until I get a person who did everything (or was their first post). So with all that explained, the winner is....

For today's project I thought about what I am doing this spring. I guess we all get spring fever and really want to go out and get away. It is a time of travel for many after being indoors all winter long so I made another card. This one is made with an ATC I made of my state. I will be having a friend from one of my groups come up to CT in May so I would like to give her a nice welcome card. If she wants to, she could take the ATC off the card later and scrap her pages of the trip and use the ATC as an embellishment. Totally up to her but that was the idea behind doing a card this way. I am so looking forward to her visit. We are going to be going to ME for a few days to a crop. Yep, can you imagine traveling that far to a crop?

You ever find you need a card in a hurry? I do every once in awhile. I also noticed on many sites the thing is "fast and simple" which is fine with me sometimes. So that is what I thought I'd do, fast and simple yet nice....and with Fiskars products, it is oh so easy.  So when I think of spring I think of birth.  No matter if it is a plant poking through the ground or the birth of the animals. So for my project I did a fast and simple birthday card. (Another think I love about the background stamp is that if I wanted I could have colored in the bigger fonts to match the cupcake paper. It would have added a splash of color but I did say simple & fast so....)

Get Well Card

My stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps came and I couldn't resist using this one first. I just love it!

St. Patrick's Day Card

Here is another Card Lifter's (Fiskateers) I did. I am putting a gift card inside for his Kindle so he can buy some books. That is why I choose to have my Leprechaun reading and the pot full of books.

First Necklace I Made

Do you still have your first paper craft project? How about sewing project? Any other projects? I don't have my first sewing project. That was a skirt I made in school (and yes, I really did wear it). I don't have the latch hook rug or the embrodered wall hanging either but I do have the first necklace I made.

This is my first beaded necklace. The clasp is the kitten stretched out with the ball of yarn between its front paws. The charm is the kitten on its back with the ball of yarn between all four paws. The beads are long glass slender beads (much like tiny spaghetti beads) that are facet cut so they shine as if they were diamonds with little tiny clear seed beads in between them. The charm and clasp are silver.
