Baby Shower

The baby shower was Sunday and it went great. I decided to make a quilt for the baby the Sunday before. Now remember I just got that fancy new sewing machine and I wanted to put it to good use but even 'baby'  quilts are not something you really want to do in a week. I know this now but sure didn't then as I never made one before. In fact, I really don't know how to sew so this was a learning experience for sure.

I embroidered little bears on the white squares and the other squares are sort of a word art type thing that say things like First Step, First Tooth, First Word... On the reverse side I have monkeys because her nickname when she was small was Monkey Face. (This was not to be mean, it is with love as a pet name. She loves her monkeys and remembers her dad calling her that so it brings fond memories to her). So now she and the baby can be surrounded by warmth and fond memories even at the 2 AM feeding.

I also made a diaper bike. The bear riding it says "My First Teddy" on his foot keeping with the theme of the firsts of the quilt. My son wouldn't let her take it apart even when they got home. He loves it!

Sunshine Card

Another cute card made for Card Lifters.
The goal was to be bright and cheery with the chicks. I colored this with Copics.
The stamp was just a chick and no ground or sky.

New Layout

Here is another layout I did for Fiskateers. We were lifting Maxine who did a nice layout of a baby girl. I liked the simple, clean look she had going on and also she had flowers in the upper left corner, the picture about middle and flowers in the lower right corner. She also put a little 'tag' which had a fancy frame with some sentiments. I 'lifted' these from her layout and came up with this.

Here is a close-up of the bride and groom. I guess you can't tell but that is Stickles in the flowers.

Close up of the stamps. They fit so well together.

I just love Ribbon Flowers. I didn't make this one but it is what started me making my own.

Recipe:

Card Stock - Georgia-Pacific, Coordination, Craft n Craftin
Stickles (Starry Night, Star Dust, Eucalyptus)
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Stamps - Fiskars Accents, Printworks
