Kitchen Helper

Here is a layout I made for the Oh Baby Challenge on About a Boy Scrapbook Challenge Blog. The rules are it has to be of a boy and the ages are from 0-12 months. Damien is only 6 months now and the picture was taken on the 13th which means he was 5 months at the time. Either way, he is well within the age bracket for this challenge.

Coloring of a Different Sort

I have this digi stamp Brooksie Book Nerd by Sherri Baldy. Take a look at Brooksie and you will notice my image isn't quite right. No, Sherri didn't mess up and send me the wrong one, I messed up coloring her. It is one of those cases of what to do when you can't really see the lines and what lines you can see, you can't stay in. My hands tend to shake and sometimes my hand/arm will jump or twitch. As you can imagine this is not something you want happening trying to color an image. Since I put so much time in her doing her, I didn't want to throw her away so  I just fake it!

I couldn't see her hair and the braid (Is that a braid?). Is she wearing some sort of babushka? Is that her hair? Well, I wasn't sure and since I messed up her hair anyways, I played the stylist and just gave her a new hair do.

Her dress is suppose to be striped at the top. Yep, I messed that up too. No problem, if I can be a stylist then being a clothing designer should be a breeze. I  just colored it all Violet Blue and then cover with matching Stickles.

I apologize for the terrible photo. I was trying to capture the Stickles on her top and ruffles and didn't notice the light washed out the whole right side of the card.

Inside: I missed your Birthday!

FYI: The pile of books are not part of this stamp, that digi came from Bee Crafty but thought it went perfect here.

Although I messed up this image totally trying to color it, I did end up with a cute image that I was able to enter in the Fiskateer Lace Challenge plus I really need this card. (I did forget someone's birthday.)

So before you ever throw an image away because you messed up coloring it, maybe take a good look at it and see if there is something you can do or use to salvage the image.

Tattered Flower Card

Tim Holtz is having a Tattered Floral Challenge  and I made this card inspired by a Fiskateer (Cardlifters wk 21) to enter it. I used the Broken China Ink as well as several others, Glimmer Mist, Distressed Stickles, Memento Ink (I don't have a lot of Tim Holtz's Ink Colors so I had to use the green from Memento), Copic Markers, and Fiskars Shapeboss.

(I used Tattered Florals and Tattered Leaves Dies.)

Tried to show the layers of the flower.

Here I try to show the shine but not sure it shows too well.

It really don't look that impressive in the photos but it really is pretty in person.
You can't even tell the petals are curved and curled that much in these photos.

Another great thing is this flower is made from a paper bag.

Keeping America beautiful one flower at a time....

New Card Made with Sherri Baldy Stamp

I am at awe at the creations out there. I have a few favorite people I visit daily to see what they are doing. I now got into taking card making up a notch and try my hand at digis. Sherri Baldy has some really cute images that are perfect for cards and coloring with Copics (or whatever you use). Here is the card I made with the inspiration from none other than The Hoosier Stamper. I made it for a challenge but after seeing what the other cards look like, well....they are way out of my league so I won't be entering it.

Update: I did enter it in the challenge after all. I made it for 2 shades of blue (Besties Challenge).

Want to win a Fiskars Interchangeable Border Punch?

New Page Added to Blizzard Album & I Could Cry

I just discovered it today and I am so upset I could just cry.

The thought of all the work to take down all my shelves and fix this wall is mind blowing. That don't even include the painting. If you remember I just did this room and got it painted and the shelves up. To top it off, I won't have a scrap room while all this work is going on.....again.

Breast Cancer Card

I made this card for Card Lifters (Fiskateers) as a lift. Diane did  a pink card for Breast Cancer Awareness. Her card was a big heart with a banner going across and sentiments which I lifted the theme of (naturally the color is pink). This is what I came up with which is really a lift of a wonderful card maker that I wish I had even an once of her talent. She is Leah Ann Gast better known as The Hoosier Stamper. Take a look at her work. Oh my gosh! She will blow you away, at least she did me.

Pages About Me

I was going through my books and realized I hardly have any pictures about me. If anything happened to me right now, my grandchildren would not know me any better after looking at my books than they do now. Sure, they would know that family means a lot to me and stuff like that but I mean about "me". I can tell you through experience by the time they are adults, they wouldn't really even remember what I look like. So I am doing pages about me to put in the book. Through the year I will add more and each one will have some little tid-bit of information about me. It may be what I like, don't like, favorite color, favorite book, that sort of thing. Might even be my thoughts at that particular moment. Any ways, I have my first two pages of "me'. I started the first page for Liftateers but then decided this is what I was going to do so I added and changed some things so now here is my two page layout of me.
