Christmas 2010

I know, I said THIS year ....but I scrapped them this year!
In one of my Yahoo groups soda bottles were mentioned to put presents and candy in. I thought it was a great so I did one for each of the older grandchildren. What you do is take a clean soda bottle, remove the label, cut a "door"  somewhere where the label was so you can use it to fill the bottle with small presents and candy. Once it is filled you tape it closed and make your own label to put around the bottle which hides your secret door. I used contact paper for my labels but I only took the backing off each end about a half an inch so they can be cut off and kept for their own pages. Just a word of caution....when I cut the door in the plastic and filled them, the cut bottle was very sharp and even cut me so when the time came I took each of the contents of the bottles out, not the children. (I used a knife to cut my doors when I made them, maybe if I use scissors and a bit of sandpaper this would not have been a problem however I just want to warn you in case you do the same thing I did.)
It was so much fun watching them trying to figure out the bottles.

On these pages I used Cricut and I believe this was a svg file someone shared with the group that said "Merry Christmas" so I used SCAL, Snowmen and Tag were Sizzix and a snowflake punch.

Not sure if you can make it out but on the snowman's hat I have the year and down the scarf I have the child's name. (Note the "Let it Snow")

The next pages I tried to use some of my stickers that I have plus years ago I was in a swap with one of my Yahoo groups and had these fantastic elements that I never used. On the Mickey Mouse page, they were stickers but the tree I used was an svg from Veronica D. I used some stamps I picked up at the drug store years ago and I also used Lyrical Letters cartridge for the fonts.

The title present and the elves with the tree are from the swap I was talking about. I just love them.

Another one where I used stickers and elements from the swap. My grandchildren are on the couch with their fingers crossed wanting snow.

This next one I was so inspired with Dan's tag that I tried it and must say I love the results.
I used stickers, SCAL to cut the font RANSOM (I'll never forget that one.....Thanks Dan!), some material I had laying around, part of an old card, and Stickles.

  1. Wow Sue! You have been busy! The pages are just lovely. I am working on my daughter's wedding album too. You have given me inspiration.
    Thanks for sharing.
