We’ll be hopping all weekend , March 24th and 25th to welcome spring!
The blog hop officially ends on Sunday March 25th at 11pm CST.
Some Fiskateers are offering sur-prizes…check their directions carefully to participate.
You ever find you need a card in a hurry? I do every once in awhile. I also noticed on many sites the thing is "fast and simple" which is fine with me sometimes. So that is what I thought I'd do, fast and simple yet nice....and with Fiskars products, it is oh so easy. So when I think of spring I think of birth. No matter if it is a plant poking through the ground or the birth of the animals. So for my project I did a fast and simple birthday card. (Another think I love about the background stamp is that if I wanted I could have colored in the bigger fonts to match the cupcake paper. It would have added a splash of color but I did say simple & fast so....)
Inside sentiments
Recipe:
White Cardstock - Georgia PacificOrange Cardstock- Bazzill
Punch - Fiskars Border Punch "Cupcakes"
Stamp, background - Fiskars Continuous Stamp Wheel with Birthday Stamp
Stamp, cupcake & inside sentiments - Fiskars "It's Your Day"
Ink - Memento Tuxido Black
Fiskars Crimper (candle)
Copic Markers
And what is a blog hop without candy???? How about a chance to win your own set of Fiskars Stamps? Want to know how? That is simple and fast too, just....
1. Be a follower of my blog
2. Leave me a comment telling me what you think of when you think of spring.
Make sure I have a way to contact you if you are the winner.
Me, I also think of all the yummy stuff to eat and drink that we don't do so much during the winter but more so during the warmer months of spring/summer. Like sun tea with fresh mint sprigs picked from my own plants. Sitting at the picnic table or on the patio sipping it and enjoying the day. So I picked this stamp set for you.
Thanks for stopping by & don't forget to stop back tomorrow for another chance to win. The winner will be announced on Monday.
Now make like a bunny and hop on over to Ladydoc Karen 2858.

Very sweet simple and fast card. Well done. I love the birds waking me in the mornings. And the flowers sticking their heads out. The smell of new mown grass cut the first time of the season. I'm a follower.

Hugs, Jessica
Quick cards are good! When I think of Spring, I think of new beginnings.
ReplyDeleteGreat quick card! I challenged myself to make a few cards awhile back without any sentiments on them. For the simple purpose of grabbing the sentiment you need at that last minute and added it to a finished card!
ReplyDeleteLove your background paper for the cupcake card!
My thinking of Spring always brings to mind an open window and the sound of the birds chirping/singing away!

ReplyDeleteI love your quick and easy card. We all need those at times. Thanks for sharing. The first thing I think of for spring is all of the smells..... flowers, grass.... etc.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did your background paper! I never think to do that, but it looks so good. When I think of spring, I think of flowers! (And allergies, but let's not focus on that part....)

Now that is an inspiring project! Never thought to use the crimper for a candle. Thank you, Sue!
ReplyDeleteI think of all the beautiful dimensional layers out of doors when I think of spring--at the start, some trees and plants are leafless and some are flowering before they get their leaves. As spring slowly rolls in, the green starts appearing, first here, then a little more there, until it's a real riot of colors. Sort of decorating the existing structure, LOL : )
Cute project! I think of flowers blooming, sunshine and birds when I think of Spring!
ReplyDeleteSweet card! Love the stamped background and that you left it uncolored! First thing I think of when I think of spring coming is the peepers, I love listening to them at night :) Vicky #7622
ReplyDeleteI became a follower. What a fun card!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of spring I think about all the pretty flowers that are waking up from their winters sleep.

Hi, from Suzi #5563 in CA! I think yours is the first sample I've seen of the Fiskars rolling stamper. I love the way it came out. When I think of Spring, I think of the birds chirping. From my craft desk I hear them a lot. It is sweet music.

Sue,
ReplyDeleteI actually like that the background is in black. With the border and the cupcake being in color, it really does look good!
No RAK for me, I am lucky enough to own that set of stamps already. However, spring, to me, means longer days that are warmer, filled with sunshine, but unfortunately very windy for about 3 months in our neck of the woods.
Cute border and I love that stamp set. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteElaine #7777
Cute card Sue - I love fast and simple as I am such a slow, slow crafter!!! Your cupcake looks great layered on top of the cupcake border :)
ReplyDeleteOoops - forgot to say that I love the beautiful colours, shapes, textures and smells of Spring :)
ReplyDelete... I say smells as amongst the lovely perfumes, we get the strong smell of wattles in bloom and that means hay fever time!!!
Cute card Sue and I love that it is so easy. I am a follower and when I think of Spring, I think of birds singing outside my craftroom window while building their nest.
ReplyDeleteOh my... my Fiskateer number didn't show up and I don't know how to fix that. I'm number #1781
